Blessings As You Light Your Chanuka Candles
Traditional blessings have been recited for countless generations, acklowledging the miracles and wonders that G-d did for our ancestors.
Here you will find the traditional blessings in Hebrew, English and transliteration. The first two blessings are recited each night immediately after kindling the flames. The last blessing,
shehechiyanu, is recited only on the first night.

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, Who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to kindle the chanuka candle.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, Who performed miracles for our ancestors in those days at this time.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, Who has kept us alive, sustained us, and enabled us to reach this moment.
Transliteration:
Baruch ata Adonai Eloheinu, Melekh Ha'olam, asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu l'hadlik ner shel Chanuka.
Baruch ata Adonai Eloheinu, Melekh Ha'olam, she'asa nisim la'avoteinu ba'yamim ha'heim ba'z'man ha'zeh.
Baruch ata Adonai Eloheinu, Melekh Ha'olam, she'hecheyanu v'kiy'manu v'higi'yanu la'z'man ha'zeh.
