Helping Kallahs in need set up their new homes, with dignity

 

Sara M. was raised alone by her mother after her parents divorced. 
Miriam L. grew up in a dormitory school. 
Ayala F.'s parents are unemployed and can't pay their bills.
Chedva R.'s father has been battling a chronic illness for the past five years.
These women may have different life stories, but something they have in common is that they're all about to get married...and they're all struggling to find a way to cover expenses. 

A struggling Kallah has big dreams for her new life, just like any bride-to-be. 
But, unlike other women, she also has big worries. 

Besides the major costs of her wedding such as the hall rental, catering and other necessities, a struggling Kallah also worries about her expenses for after the simcha: household essentials she needs, to set up her future home. 

American Friends of Yad Eliezer | B’ezri’s Kol Kallah Bridal program is there to remedy this situation, providing support for brides who face financial challenges, allaying their worry and bringing relief. We partner with the beautiful Prakti Chasuna Center in Jerusalem to allocate store credit for Kallahs which they can use to purchase items such as linens, dishes, small appliances, personal effects and other necessities. Prakti’s pleasant atmosphere empowers each of our Kallahs to shop for her needs with dignity, and their significantly discounted prices, for their wide range of products, enable her to get the most out of her Kol Kallah credit.
 

Our program creates an invaluable experience for the Kallahs we assist, helping each woman feel like a “regular” bride, not one who is shopping with aid from tzedaka.
 

Donations can be made in honor of a friend or relative who is hoping to get married. In return, the recipient will pray for her on the wedding day. Our Kol Kallah brides are happy and eager to be able to pay it forward. Contact us for more details.
