As a leading Israeli charity, Yad Eliezer is lucky to have friends and supporters worldwide, who help us with our programs in a myriad of ways. One of them is Bank Mercantile with whom Yad Eliezer has a valued partnership. Staff members of both held a special online ceremony recently, in celebration of it.
In the meeting, Bank Mercantile’s CEO, Shuki Bernstein, and bank representatives met with Rabbi Eli Yaakobi, director of Yad Eliezer’s Big Brothers/Sisters mentoring program, and staff members including Rabbi Motti Birenzweig.
The two parties discussed the benefits of Yad Eliezer’s many chesed programs for impoverished families, including the multi faceted aid provided to children from disadvantaged homes, through the Big Brothers/Sisters program. Rabbi Yaakobi stressed the importance and value of Bank Mercantile’s partnership, while bank representatives voiced their appreciation at being given the opportunity to contribute to the community and to children in the Big Brothers/Sisters program specifically. Employees of the bank have also volunteered packing food boxes at Yad Eliezer’s Jerusalem warehouse.
Mr. Borstein commented: “We are both happy and proud to be, for the last twelve years, part of the Avodas HaKodesh that is being done at Yad Eliezer. We look forward to continuing to work together, b'Ezrat Hashem.”
Rabbi Yaakobi added “We are very grateful to the management of Bank Mercantile, for their tremendous support these years, for this program and for others as well..”
