Krinsky's Supermarket Rounds Up for Yad Eliezer

Monday, May 22, 2017

Help us support poor families in Israel so that they could have a joyful Pesach

Dovid loved the idea, and adapted their cash registers with a "Round up Tzedaka" button which would keep track of any donations made as a result of busy Pesach purchases. Yad Eliezer was chosen as the lucky recipient of tzedaka raised through their idea. Naomi and Dovid posted about their campaign on social media and through Whatsapp groups, with their slogan "Everybody's cents make lots of dollars for charity" travelling far and wide, creating a big buzz in the shop and in the community. Krinsky's customers were eager to participate in the round up and the donations kept adding up. Through the Krinsky's initiative, Yad Eliezer received an amazing $1000 contribution!

Yad Eliezer is honored to be on the receiving end of such generosity. Dovid says "It was really a pleasure and a big zechus for us, my wife especially, to do it.

"I have fantastic, generous customers who were so happy to give", says Naomi.

A big thank you goes out to the Krinskys and their thoughtful patrons for rounding up for Yad Eliezer!
A few weeks before Pesach, Naomi Krinsky was out shopping near her home in Sydney, Australia. As she went to check out, she was asked if she'd like to "round up" her purchase for charity (rounding her bill up to the next decimal, or adding any amount, which would then be donated). She agreed, and then became inspired. Naomi and her husband Dovid own Krinsky's-a kosher supermarket in their Sydney community and Naomi thought, "If this store can "round up for charity" we can do the same in ours!"
